For Wulingyuan, stay in Wulingyuan district near the park gate so you can walk to the morning shuttle. For Tianmen Mountain, stay in Yongding district (city centre) — the airport, railway stations and the cableway base are all there.
Yes. Shuttle buses, cable cars and the Bailong Elevator replace most of the climbing, and Golden Whip Stream and Ten-Mile Gallery are nearly flat. Skip the 999 steps and glass walkways if mobility is limited.
1–2 days ahead is fine on normal days; book 3–7 days ahead for Labour Day, National Day and summer. Tianmen Mountain's morning slots often sell out first, so lock that date in before planning the rest.
Light rain and the hours just after rain produce the best cloud seas. Heavy rain, thunderstorms or high winds can temporarily suspend cableways, the glass bridge and glass walkways — check official notices on the day.
